NBA All-Star 2023 Voting Update: LeBron James and Kevin Durant firmly build first place

The NBA has just announced the results of the second round of All-Star votes from fans (fan-votes) and compared to the first round, there have been some changes in the middle group. There is no disturbance in the leading position with 4 familiar names.

LeBron James is currently leading the entire NBA in terms of total votes, and is at the top of the Western frontcourt position with 4,825,229 votes. In the East, Kevin Durant is the frontcourt player with the most votes with 4,509,238, also the second-placed player in the entire tournament.

If there is no significant change, it is very likely that LeBron and Durant will become captains again at the NBA All-Star Game 2023, the third year in a row that both have received this honor.

With backcourt, Stephen Curry leads the West with 3,901,808 votes, while Kyrie Irving holds the No. 1 position in the East with 3,024,893 votes. These are two very worthy names.

Some other notable names include:

_ Giannis Antetokounmpo ranked second in the Eastern frontcourt group, losing to Kevin Durant by nearly 42,000 votes. Experts say that "Demigod" can overcome Durant because the Brooklyn Nets star is injured (having to take a 2-4 week break).

_ Anthony Davis and "The Joker" Nikola Jokic ranked behind LeBron James, completing the top 3 frontcourt players with the most votes in the West.Apparently close to this group was Zion Williamson, the bigman was in impressive form but had to sit out because of this group. hamstring pain in the past 2 weeks.

_ Luka Doncic is second in the Western defenders group, behind Stephen Curry and is likely to become an All-Star player to start this season. Meanwhile, the same position in the East belongs to Donovan Mitchell, the owner of many explosive matches in the Cleveland Cavaliers shirt.

According to NBA rules, fan-votes will account for 50% of the total points to determine All-Star players. The remaining 50% is divided equally with 25% for the media and the remaining 25% belongs to all playing NBA players.

After two updates of fan vote results, the list of 10 starting players (NBA All-Star Starters) will be announced on January 27. The group of reserve players selected by the coaching staff of 30 NBA teams will be revealed a week later, on February 3.

This year's NBA All-Star series of events will take place at ViVint Smarthome Arena, the home ground of the Utah Jazz on February 18-19-20.
