      The Irish Premier League is played in four round-robin games, home and away, for a total of 36 rounds. The winner of each game gets 3 points, the loser gets no points, and the two teams in a draw get 1 point each. In the end, the ranking is determined by the number of points. If the points are tied, the ranking is determined by the goal difference and the number of goals scored. The league champion will participate in the Champions League qualifying rounds next season, while the 2nd and 3rd place will participate in the European Association League next season. The last place in the league will be directly relegated to the First Division. The second to last place will compete with the second place in the First Division for promotion and relegation play-offs to compete for a qualification for the Irish Super League next season.
